The Driving Force Behind the Brand

Antisia King serves as Vice President of Mr. Levi’s MyTFine Soul Sauce — and in her father’s words, she’s “in charge of everything, including me.” While Mr. Levi works behind the scenes perfecting recipes and managing production, Antisia is the operational engine driving the brand forward.

Her mission is clear: get MyTFine Soul Sauce into every household. That means developing marketing strategies, securing partnerships with Detroit chefs and restaurants, managing event sponsorships, and ensuring the brand shows up where it matters — from Eastern Market to community festivals across the city.

When Brooklyn Street Local wanted to feature MyTFine Soul Sauce in their jerk chicken poutine for Poutine for the People, Antisia made it happen. When the brand needed to increase visibility through strategic event sponsorships, she built the roadmap. She’s the reason you see Soul Sauce at major Detroit food events — and the reason it’s selling.

From Banking to Building a Brand

In 2006, Antisia worked part-time as a cashier at 8 Mile Food Land, a neighborhood store that had recently opened. It was convenient — the store was close to home, the owners were friendly, and the schedule worked around her full-time banking job. After two years, a promotion at the bank meant leaving the cashier role behind. But she kept shopping there. The food was fresh, the community was strong, and the relationships stuck.

A decade later, in 2018, after years of watching her father build MyTFine Soul Sauce from trunk sales to communal kitchens to retail-ready bottles, Antisia walked back into 8 Mile Food Land with a different ask: Would they carry the sauce?

Chris, the owner, said he’d give it a shot. Customers couldn’t get enough. That first placement validated what Antisia already knew — the product worked. It just needed someone to open doors, build relationships, and make sure the right people tasted it.

That’s been her role ever since: open doors, build partnerships, and make sure MyTFine Soul Sauce isn’t just in stores — it’s in conversations.

Strategic Growth Through Visibility & Partnerships

Antisia’s approach leverages relationships, visibility, and proof of concept. She taps her influential network to secure TV spots on Detroit morning shows — CBS Detroit, Fox 2, WDIV Local 4 — giving MyTFine Soul Sauce the kind of public credibility that distributor relationships alone can’t deliver.

She ensures MyTFine Soul Sauce sponsors Detroit events where the brand can connect with real customers. She coordinates content capture — getting footage of her father cooking, of three generations on TV together, of restaurant partnerships in action. She secures joint ventures with chefs like Reniel of Flavors of Jamaica, proving the sauce works beyond traditional BBQ applications.

Her kitchen uses the sauce in turkey chili and meatloaf — the same versatility story the brand tells publicly. When she talks about MyTFine Soul Sauce working beyond the grill, it’s not marketing copy. It’s how her family actually cooks.

Three Generations, One Mission

Antisia’s son, T.J. King, and her nephew Brandon have both appeared on TV alongside Mr. Levi, representing the third generation of the family behind MyTFine Soul Sauce. When WDIV Local 4 featured the brand in 2024, all three generations were on set — a rare visual of legacy in action.

“Her mission is to ensure that every household has access to Soul Sauce — and she’s building the infrastructure to make that happen.”

What’s Next

Antisia is focused on expanding the brand’s reach through e-commerce growth, strategic chef partnerships, and securing placements in new markets like Ann Arbor’s Neiman Harvest. MyTFine Soul Sauce is already available in 25+ independent Detroit-area retailers — from Joe’s Produce to Sister Pie to Rocky’s Eastern Market — plus major grocery chains across Michigan. That’s 90+ locations and growing.

The goal hasn’t changed: get MyTFine Soul Sauce into every household. The strategy is evolving to meet the opportunity — and Antisia is the one making it happen.
